Network based approach is a high-level plan to understand any project whereas GANTT chart is an in-depth plan. The main advantage of a network-based approach is that a network diagram is able to link various activities. Processed flow-chart diagram is used to exhibit network-based approach. When there is an uncertainty in the time duration, the network-based approach is a better method. The estimated time frames are defined here as 2 days or 2 weeks or 2 months etc. GANTT chart is sometimes proved to be unreliable and counterproductive method. A network-based approach focuses more on the relationship of activities in a project and ‘how they affect one another’.
